zanebow:

Reading a Terry Pratchett book is literally just:

Here’s a funny little joke
Here’s something that you can tell is a joke but don’t get and will only figure out five years later
Here’s a surprisingly cool fantasy concept
Here’s a unique and well written simile
Here’s a lil guy
Here’s something that has aged depressingly well into the modern day
Here’s something that has aged remarkably queer into the modern day
Here’s a character that you can barely understand what he’s saying
Here is the most terrifying and deeply disturbing concept you have ever heard, casually mentioned
Here is the dumbest fucking pun you’ve ever heard but in the best way
Here is a quote so profound that it makes you view morality and the world in a different way
Here is a plot twist that you can’t tell if it’s genius or stupid
Congratulations! You’ve finished the book! It has fundamentally changed you as a person and you will never be the same!

“Could L have stopped Walter White”

“Could Benoit Blanc have stopped Kira”

Blah blah blah ENOUGH. We have to ask the real questions—

Could Saul Goodman get Light off? And barring that how much would Light’s sentence be reduced?

I’ve told this story ten thousand times and I will tell it for the ten thousandth and first: whenever I think about wearing a costume to work on Halloween, I remember the time I saw a doctor breaking what must have been devastating news to a sobbing patient while the doc was dressed as a ketchup bottle.

There’s a lot of good responses to this but I obviously very partial to the healthcare ones

I guess friendly reminder that you can’t actually judge someone’s socioeconomic status based on what they own and the classic republican “they can’t be poor they own a smart phone/computer” argument doesn’t suddenly stop being complete out of touch nonsense when a poor person makes it.

Anyway insert “y'all can’t be trusted to eat the rich bcs you’ll target taco bell shift leaders and people with playstations instead of actual billionaires” post here.
